table magnifier lamp bracket pin breaks continually?
I keep replacing my table magnifier lamp because the bottom pin
on the lower bracket is light guage aluminum and bends from movement then breaks. Anyone got a "fix", a better way to mount
this lamp? I do not use an adjustable table clamp bracket but
have put lower pin into a 2" galvanized stem pipe attached to table.
This lamp came from Office Depot and they cannot get new parts
for me. I want to modify this rather than invest in a very expensive
lamp.
do you have access to somewhere they can remake the part that breaks into something made of steel?you clearly have removed the ajustable part and strenghtened it now you have to change the pin to a steel one and modify it, otherwise you need to invest into a higher quality lamp. like have someone take a pin of the proper size and weld plate and then drill some holes in it. it can be done easily by the right person. make them a nice full size pattern c/w hole locations, and then make them something in trade for the work, guys like cookies
