Tow haul light on gear shift has started going off and on in my Ford Excursion?
First had this problem one cool am last week. Makes vehicle feel like the transmission is not always engaging.
Today the over drive started messing up. It feels like you were pushing a clutch in and out. Last month the alternator went out and this caused transmission problems then unless the transmission can cause the alternator to go bad.
tow/haul light, or OD light flashing in ford full size vehicles is commonly an indication of torque converter issues. many SUV's have this problem. it can be a solenoid problem or a faulty torque converter. The best advice would be to have a transmission specialty shop scan the computer to see what problems exists, before causing permanent and costly transmission issues. I do not belive there would be any alternator corolation.
